2010 American Legion Craft Fair Fundraiser Pictures

I finally got around to uploading the great pictures my able body assistant Malca took at the 2010 Fall Craft Fair Fundraiser for the American Legion that took place way back on Oct 3rd. Sunday Bead Show

Sunday I will be at the Whole Bead Show in Chelsea NY looking for some unique and interesting baubles to add to the my inventory. Its the only way to stand out from the big box craft stores that all have the same thing. The one thing you can always say about my shop is that I have some really odd and unique items mixed in with the everyday necessites of crafting.

Sad News

I know its been a while since I updated here. Life and the store have been a bit crazy. My Grandmother, the founder of Cook's Arts and Crafts passed away on April 10. Here is a picture of her taken in a Brooklyn Park in the late 1920's or early 1930's. She was 90 years young and was in the store 6 days a week until March of this year when she broke her hip.

NYC Toy Show 2010

There was so much to see at this years Toy Show! We are bringing in tons of new items from Puzzled Inc, Pepperell Braiding Company, ColorBok & many other independent vendors. In the coming weeks I'll be posting video to our youtube page and pictures to our flickr account so please keep an eye out.

Craft Fair and Fundraiser

Our local American Legion has asked us to help them organize a Craft Fair and Fundraiser. The details we have so far are:

Sunday Oct 3rd

Admission is FREE

Vender Tables are $25 each

Drinks, Snacks and Hot Dogs will be available for purchase

Held at the American Legion Post 104

72-02 Myrtle Avenue Glendale NY

Holiday Hair Clips for any age

The time is here for the inevitable christmas parties. Where you dress up in that happy christmas sweater or those funky christmas socks and enjoy. Well Ladies, what about your hair? These are for women of any age that just want something fun for their hair. Easy and inexpensive to make for even the youngest brownie or girl scout troop too.

Christmas ornament for the center. We used mini christmas tree decorations, but painted wood, plastic, resin or foamies work great too.

Hot Glue gun for instant hold or white craft glue if you have little ones around.

Below are some pictures. The glitter doesn't show up too well in the shots but trust me they look adorable. Come into the shop and take a look in person for the full effect.

I bet more than a few of you are digging out your christmas decorations and are missing some bulbs for your ceramic trees. Well, you're in luck. We stock 3 different sizes and 4 different designs. Bring one of your bulbs in so we can make sure they fit.

Cook's Arts & Crafts will be closed from 10am till around noon. We will be at The Memorial on Myrtle Avenue & Cooper Avenue. At 11 am the local American Legion members will have a short 11th hour Ceremony. Join us if you can, it is open to all.
